Red Fox
Painting Development
Stage 1: I began by washing in areas of local color to determine where the objects would be arranged in the composition. It is important to try and keep the paint vibrant and not thin too much. This will be the foundation colors of the painting I want them to be well saturated. next >>

Stage 2: In this stage I continue to work on the details of the background and paint the details of and color values to create depth. I also paint the darkest and lightest color values at this point to determine the color value range. next >>

Final Stage: At this stage the details are focussed on such as the fox on the log. Although it is small in the composition it stands out in the scene because of the rust and red colors being complementary to the greens that are dominant in this painting. Top >> | -Robbie Cook 12-27-2007
